In the famous
Monte Hall game the player choose one door out of three closed doors.
Behind one of the doors is a prize. Then the game show host open a certainly
empty door. The host offers you the chance to switch door. Will you
?
Simple probability
calculations shows that changing the door always increase the probability
of winning. The probability of winning actually doubles (goes from 1/3
to 2/3).
Here you
can try out yourself by running Monte Carlo Simulations on the Monte
Hall problem.
